Hillel Glover, MD

Hillel Glover, MD, has been a practicing psychiatrist for more than 50 years. Dr. Glover is board-certified in adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, and certified in psychoanalysis. He currently serves patients at NYC Psychiatric Associates, located in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Manhattan, New York.

Dr. Glover received his medical degree from the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine in Florida. He then completed his residency in adult psychiatry at the Zucker Hillside Hospital in Queens, New York, and his child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Columbia / New York State Psychiatric Institute.

He received certification in psychoanalysis from New York Medical College in Valhalla and completed a research fellowship in psychiatry at Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Glover has also been published in the field of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Dr. Glover has treated children, adolescents, and adults in private practice, clinics, emergency rooms, and outpatient hospital facilities. He treats people suffering from anxiety, depression, social phobia, mood swings, loneliness, despair, mistrust, explosive anger, self-hatred, panic, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, addictions, substance abuse, self-injurious behaviors, paranoia, and psychosis.

He has also worked at inpatient facilities, outpatient addiction units, prisons, and outpatient VA medical centers, where his patients were combat veterans diagnosed with PTSD. These experiences gave Dr. Glover a profound understanding of how symptoms of emotional distress are unique to each individual.

Dr. Glover believes in finding unique approaches to each patient and places great importance on knowing a person’s medical history and lifestyle, such as diet, exercise, sleep, activities, values, and goals. His treatment plans consist of both pharmaceutical drugs and holistic approaches.

Dr. Glover was honored with The Chapel of Four Chaplains Legion of Honor Membership (1993) and the Military Order of the Purple Heart for meritorious and conspicuous service (1996) from his patients, who were combat veterans.
