Brenda Alexander-O’Neil, PMHNP-BC, is dedicated to providing compassionate and effective mental health care across a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, emergency rooms, and community mental health centers. With a focus on understanding each patient’s unique needs, she offers personalized treatment plans in both rural and urban settings across New York state.
Her attraction to psychiatry and mental health began in early adulthood when she saw family and friends struggling with depression and anxiety. Witnessing their struggles and the challenge of coping alone ignited her resolve to help those facing similar issues. This passion drove her to become a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). Helping people overcome mental illness is incredibly rewarding and one of the most fulfilling aspects of her career.
NP Alexander-O’Neil’s areas of expertise include addiction, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, PTSD, and trauma.
