Dean Parmelee, MD

Dean Parmelee, MD, is a child and adolescent psychiatry specialist at NYC Psychiatric Associates, located in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Manhattan, New York. He has over 47 years of experience in the medical field. 

Dr. Parmelee graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine in New York. He then trained at Massachusetts General in Boston and McLean Hospital, the largest psychiatric affiliate of Harvard Medical School in Belmont, Massachusets. He is board-certified in general, child and adolescent psychiatry. 

Dr. Parmelee has a distinguished career at academic medical centers in teaching, research, and patient care. He is a recipient of the prestigious AOA Robert J. Glaser Distinguished Teacher Award of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the American Association of Medical Colleges. 

His approach to patient care is comprehensive, starting with generous listening and considering all options for facilitating positive outcomes.
